3 things that you might want to know this week

The news is full of the good, the bad, the ugly and the sad, here are 3 things you might want to know this week.

  1. Stop, hammer time and listen…..then read….for an hour…..this Thursday.  How good is that! Permission to read! This Thursday, 20 September, is Australian Reading Hour.  The good folks who started this great day want ‘Australians to either rediscover or introduce themselves to the benefits of reading. Take the time to learn, grow, escape and relax.’  They say that reading, more than any other activity, will help you to relieve your stress and anxiety. We’re in!
  2. Next month, Australia’s first surfing wave pool will put Yeppoon, Queensland, Australia firmly on the tourism and surfing map.  Gold Coast-based Surf Lakes, will open it’s demonstration facility which is hoping to draw in surf-mad and savvy investors to build similar parks across the Oz and the World.
  3. While we wait for rain in Australia, water and weather are causing havoc overseas.   Hurricane Florence in South Carolina USA and Typhoon Mangkhut, have been hammering our overseas friends.  So far 14 are reported dead in the American State and 50 in Hong Kong, Macau and the Phillipines, across the Quangdong province.
